I am currently a senior at The College of New Jersey, majoring in Graphic Design with a minor in Interactive Multimedia. I currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.42 and have earned Dean's List honors for the Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Spring 2022, and Spring 2023 semesters. In addition to my full academic course load, I am active in my sorority (Alpha Xi Delta) and work part-time as an aide in a physical therapy practice. I played varsity basketball for 3 years in high school, and am currently the President of the TCNJ Club basketball team.

The Graphic Design specialization provides conceptual, theoretical, and technical problem-solving skills in the field of visual communication and prepares students to be creative, collaborative, and critical so that they can succeed in the competitive design profession. We approach the profession as an interdisciplinary, cross-media field that is rooted in the fine arts as they become creators and interpreters of the environment in which we live, students will develop their personal vision and cultivate a sense of social responsibility as designers who contribute to culture. They will be able to perceive and adapt to changing cultural and technological demands and to the fast-growing design profession. Students who specialize in graphic design may choose to explore print and or digital media. The curriculum includes coursework in typography, image-making, theories and history, web and multimedia design, and research and portfolio development. Students are prepared for a wide range of employment opportunities in publishing, advertising, branding, and identity systems, packaging, information design, as well as design for the World Wide Web and other digital devices.

On the court, my teammates and I set picks for each other, make passes until we have the right shot, and grab the rebound for second shots when we can. After games, we meet and discuss what we did well and what we can work on in practice.
In the design studio, we bounce ideas around with each other, add details and refine our images to meet our design goal, and critique our end result to learn and improve in the future.
